Abstract

Agriculture and tourism complement each other in terms of common features. The relationship of the two sectors with each other, people's longing for natural life and the consumption of resources have brought agro tourism by integrating agriculture and tourism. The location of Silifke district is advantageous in terms of climate, agricultural products and touristic destinations. Based on this, Silifke district will be evaluated within the scope of Agro tourism, which includes activities in the agricultural field. In this direction, the documents related to the district of Silifke were examined between 01.06.2020-10.06.2020 (journals, brochures, books, reports, scientific articles, websites, news) and a SWOT analysis was performed in the light of the data obtained. As a result of the SWOT analysis, it was determined that the district has many advantages such as touristic destinations, climate, geographical location, but it is in a disadvantageous situation such as promotion, infrastructure and investment. The first strawberry harvest in the district and the registration of the strawberry create an advantage for the district economy and marketing. In addition, the cultivation of various lemon varieties and the lemon trade in the district are also an advantage. The fact that there are factories for both olives and lemons reveals that these products are important in the district and contribute to the economy of the district.
